Creating a portable first aid kit

Today I will be starting a “purse must have” series. Each Sunday for the next few weeks I will do a post on something that you should carry in your purse at all times. Given my previous emergency planning series this first “purse must have” as well as the final post in the “emergency planning series” and will be on creating a portable first aid kit.

Creating your portable first aid kit.

  1. Choose your container
    • Remember the container must be big enough to hold your supplies but small enough to fit in your purse. I would suggest:
      • A small pencil case
      • A makeup bag
      • A soap box
  2. Gather your supplies:
    • Reminder: your portable first aid kit only needs the basics. If you followed the emergency planning series than you should already have your larger first aid kit for your vehicle and one as well for your home. Most businesses also have their own so you will only need small items with you at all times.
    • Suggestions:
      • Bandaids
      • Tweezers
      • Gauze roll
      • Gauze tape
      • Advil/Asprin/Tylenol travel packs
      • Neosporin on the go spray
